Artist Statement

Artist Statement

Immediately after my undergraduate degree I participated in an artist residency at the Banff Center for the Arts in 2008. During my time I created 6 works that were displayed at the Center, with the help of Tabitha Minns as my curator who made the whole thing a success. The works were explorations of my own identity, and in retrospect, they are very much about my feelings as a closeted queer ready to come out.

Handmade, cast and found paper, dried intestine casing, wood, plaster, sewing patterns, under-flooring foam, pencil crayon and acrylic paint. 2008.
