Exploring 'masculinity, identity, memory and place', Zachary Logan's work focusses on the queer body, 're-wild[ing] his body as a queer embodiment of nature.' I came across his work a few years ago while writing my thesis, and was surprised to find an artist doing similar work in such close proximity.
I was able to see his work in person at Line Gallery in North Bay, a beautiful little home based gallery with an impressive collection for it's size. Seeing the work in such an intimate setting made for a wonderful experience with the surface and gradation of colour. However, my favourite work I've seen of his is his recent ceramics created during a recent residency as ISCP in New York, shown below.
