Handmade Paper

I learned papermaking at the Banff Center for the Arts during an artist residency in 2008. I fell in love with the mark making of the paper pulp, the air bubbles and the accidental wrinkles in pressing. These works all use my handmade paper from Banff.  My first, This is Why I Always Take the Stairs, was created for an exhibition held in an elevator space at the Center. Banff Landscapes explore my love for the town after I returned home from my residency.

Handmade paper with acrylic on board, with some mixed media elements. 2008-2009.
